Alright, a new day and a new adventure in paradise! Today we visited the tropical island of Moorea which is 18 miles to the west of Tahiti. After viewing the sail in, mom and I ate a quick breakfast in Park Cafe and headed to the theater to meet our tour group at 7:45 am. We then went off the ship and toured around the island. At the beginning, the weather was rainy, but by 9:00 am, the sun came out and beautifully lit up the island. Some of the sights we saw were the tallest mountain in Moorea, a Marae (Polynesian sacred sacrifice ground – humans and animals!), and also a beach with bungalows on it. Finally, we visited a Tiki market and theater to have a nice tropical drink, watch another beach, and listen to Tahitian songs by the natives. After circling the heart-shaped island, we headed back to the ship, but not before buying some cheap Tahitian Pearls (~$10)! Once back on the ship, we relaxed and ate dinner in the Windjammer buffet. Tonight's entertainment was City of Dreams, a production show about two lovers sharing a dream across Atlantis, Bombay, Beijing and Venice. It was a great show! Okay, tomorrow we visit Bora-Bora, home of some of the best beaches in the world, stay tuned!
