We have finally reached the island of Bora Bora, which I can officially say is the most beautiful island I have seen in the world (no joke!) Postcards and pictures can not even begin to due the island's beauty justice. Anyways, now we are about halfway through our cruise, and almost at the halfway point of our entire trip =(. So on to today's adventure. After sailing in to Bora Bora, mom and I had a quick breakfast once again in Park Cafe and went to the Arcadia theater to meet our tour group. We then disembarked and tendered to the town of Vaitape. Our tour took us around the island to learn about the culture and see the island's most famous sites. The first stop was at a place that showed us how they made a wrap around garment that the islanders wear. Next, we went to a vantage point to view Mount Otemanu, the largest mountain on Bora Bora (~2500 feet heigh). We then saw a couple of beaches before traveling to one of the prettiest in the world, Matira Beach. The pictures are below and they DEFINITELY can not due it justice. Everyone should at least see this beach in their lifetime! After leaving Matira Beach (which no one wanted to do), we went to the famous Bloody Mary's bar. Next, our tour dropped us back off in Vaitape, where mom and I tried to find some cheap Black Pearls. Mom managed to get a nice Tahitian black pearl ring. We also got some Tahitian vanilla beans, some of the finest grown in the world. After shopping, we sadly returned to the tender and back to our ship. An hour later, we watched the sail away from Bora Bora to go to Auckland, New Zealand. Of course to make our sail away complete, we shared a virgin Piña Colada. We had dinner in the Windjammer Buffet and tonight's entertainment was a very talented Aussie lady named Amber Jade, who tap danced, sang, and played a bunch of oldies music (like Glen Miller) on her Oboe and Saxophone. That's all for today, don't miss tomorrow for what should be a fun day at sea!
