Day Two of Adventures in Paradise!

Today featured a great touring day of Washington and Oregon with our friends Mary and Ed. After having a well rested sleep, mom and I were treated to an amazing breakfast of eggs, bacon, delicious homemade smoked salmon, and hash browns. Afterwards, we took a long drive through Washington and Oregon besides the Columbia River. Along the way, we stopped for some scenic points, pictured below. At one stop, the Bonneville Dam, we saw salmon swimming up against the current of the Columbia River to spawn. Next, we stopped for lunch followed by a trip to the Multnomah Falls for another scenic view. After all this, we went back to their house to relax and watch movies to finish up the day. Coming up tomorrow: Day Three... Don't miss it!

The Fish Ladder is a bunch of interconnecting passageways the salmon need to cross through to clear the dam and get back into the Columbia River.  This is one of the views of the fish struggling against the heavy current.

Here's why they call it the Fish Ladder, the salmon basically have to swim through this to get through the dam.
